Our Story

Our Story

Our Story

Japan had always felt like another world with looming bamboo forests, the aroma of soy and broth drifting from ramen shops, and cities lit up like constellations. Even the vending machines felt magical, offering warm canned tea at midnight like it understood the mood. It was a place where the smallest details felt deliberate, where beauty lived in both the stillness and the motion.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the place. It was how many people lit up when I talked about it, then quietly mentioned they’d always wanted to go. But the excitement often gave way to hesitation. Planning felt daunting. The language, unfamiliar. And the fear of getting it wrong often kept them from ever going.

Momiji & Maple was created with them in mind. Our name is a nod to both places: a meeting point between cultures. Momiji, the Japanese maple and our beloved Canadian symbol. It's this shared spirit of familiarity and discovery that I hope every guest feels. This is the thread running through everything we offer, blending Canadian warmth with Japanese intention to create experiences that feel personal, considered, and quietly elevated.

We’re here to offer an invitation. A way in. A gentle guide. A journey that feels both intentional and effortless.

Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy

Travel should feel exciting. Not rushed, not chaotic, and still full of those wide-eyed moments where you think, I’ve never seen anything like this before. That’s what we’re after.

At Momiji & Maple, everything is designed with care. Our journeys are intentionally limited to small groups, allowing for a more flexible, comfortable experience and access to places that are often overlooked by larger crowds. It's not about checking off boxes. It's about feeling present in the places that move you.

Each itinerary is a blend of contrast and connection. A rhythm between vibrant cities, peaceful moments in nature, and everything in between. Along the way, a dedicated local coordinator helps ease the journey, offering insight, language support, and a sense of grounding as you explore.

The details are ours to manage, so your memories can be shaped by meaning, not logistics.

Who This Is For

This is for travelers who want to experience Japan without having to plan every detail. It’s especially for those who have always wanted to go but weren’t sure where to start. Or maybe you’ve been before and want to go deeper, beyond the usual path.

We tend to attract people who are thoughtful, open to new experiences, and drawn to the feeling of something a little less expected. If you’re someone who invests in quality—whether that’s in food, design, or how you spend your time—this is likely your kind of trip.

If Japan has been calling to you, but the planning feels like too much, you're not alone. It’s easy to want to wait for the perfect timing, the right company, or the energy to move from daydreams and scrolling into something real.

But being there is different. It’s the soft flicker of lanterns along a quiet street. The first bite of something unforgettable at a tiny counter, with the last seat waiting just for you. The taste of perfectly seasoned broth after a full travel day. The moment when the unfamiliar starts to feel a little bit like home.

We’ll take care of the planning, the logistics, and every moving part. All that’s left is to say yes and come with your curiosity.
